I had the same problem, after upgrading to winzip 17.0, winzip no longer works on my Windows 8.1 machine. The reason is that I installed my new scanner using winzip installer but did not setup the scanner as a windows application. I needed to open up the winzip app, and then select the scanner. After I did this, winzip now worked.
I still have the same problem. I installed WinZip 17.0, updated to App-v 5.0 and the App-v registry has been set to zero. I went to scan a PDF, and WinZip simply does not open the file. The App-v info shows that it is open, and that it is still trying to open. The app-v always fails on opening the WinZip app, and that is the end of my winzip.

The buttons don't work. I am currently using WinZip 16, and I click the little compressing thing, and it compresses the file. But, when I click the close button, I cannot get it to unzip the file. No matter which button I click, it doesn't do anything, but it says it did.
I've tried to do an uninstall, and then a reinstall. Both don't work. I've also tried a repair install. All to no avail. I've also tried to reinstall the whole OS, then re-install WinZip. All to no avail.
I have the same problem also with Winzip 7. I manage open the files with Apple Archive utility but annoying that Winzip is not working when double clicking the files or opening email attachements.
The MATLAB environment is based on the MathWorks MATLABĀ® Compiler, or MMC, which is a proprietary language developed by MathWorks to facilitate the building of applications. MMC understands the MATLAB language and various task APIs and provides efficient intermediate language compilers for compiling functions and scripts.
The MATLABĀ® Engine is the core of the MATLAB product. It compiles, executes, and interprets MATLAB scripts and programs, as well as runs the M-files and M-links created by the MMC. It also allows the exchange of data between MATLAB applications, the MathWorks M-files and M-links, and other programming languages, including C, C++, and Visual Basic. 827ec27edc
