Heihachi also seeks to cultivate a sense of community, as can be seen with his founding of the Iron Fist Tournament and the Mishima Zaibatsu's Community Center. Though he's willing to resort to extreme measures to protect and preserve what he regards as a legitimate community, Heihachi's power is invested in the Mishima Zaibatsu's continuity and his power is based on his ability to bend the law to his will. Heihachi claims to be a man of the people, yet he was the head of the largest organized crime syndicate in the world and highly instrumental to the Mishima Zaibatsu being an organized crime syndicate for most of its history. Heihachi has a close relationship with his grandson Kazuya and seems to have no regard for his wife and son, and rarely shows interest in his family. Heihachi also has no respect for his children's spouses (even if they're his own), and is shown to enjoy tormenting his daughter Miharu over her failed marriage with Kazuya. In the end, he is often associated with the Mishima Zaibatsu and its private army, the Tekken Force.
Like Jinpachi, Heihachi is also insecure and frequently tries to belittle others and get an upper hand. It is revealed in the comic that he is extremely smart, and even has a photographic memory, as he can remember every detail of the Iron Fist Tournament in which he was defeated by Kazuya, and to this day his enemies lack the ability to defeat him. He does not wish to lose again, and is obsessed with taking Kazuya and the Iron Fist Tournament down with him; however, his son Kazuya's victory has earned him the respect of the Mishima Zaibatsu.
