In theory, Phoenix BIOS firmware flash tool phlash16.exe should be run from a DOS boot disk with the UPDTROM utility. Unfortunately, I've seen problems with getting it to work properly. It can be run from a DOS boot disk, though.
If you need to reboot, first make sure that you have a DOS boot floppy. If you don't, download the UPDTFLSH DOS BIOS update floppy. Reboot the system with the DOS bootdisk. If you don't have a DOS bootdisk, download a file containing the floppy image and store it on a floppy. Note that you need a bootable DOS floppy for BIOS updates! When prompted, boot from the floppy and enter the file type. If you can't boot from the floppy, you have a problem, so get help!
Many BIOSes will not allow you to update the SMBIOS data unless you're logged in as root, and it will tell you that. I suggest that you make a root account with the root password set to something easy to remember, then log in as root and do the update. This also works if a BIOS refuses to boot a floppy without a password. Note that the update fails if you have to enter a password, so be sure to remember it.
