I basically started VirtualDub in college to do some quick capture-and-encoding that I wanted done; from there it's basically grown into a more general utility that can trim and clean up video before exporting to tape or processing with another program. I released it on the web and others found it useful, so I've been tinkering around with its code ever since. If you have the time, please download and enjoy.
The software will detect Mpeg-4 files and the endian conversion must be configured in Project Settings. Also, the input must be compressed (a.k.a. "encoded") with an MPEG-4 data stream (unless you want to use an external data source since Pinnacle can export HD video files).
If anybody has the source to VirtualDub, I'm pretty much open to whatever you'd like to submit with this release. Feel free to send me the source-code of your favorite ffmpeg-related codepath or tool and I'll see what I can do (including throwing an entry on this page).
I'm going to do my best to get this feature tested properly over the next week or so. You should create the proper pascals video file for testing purposes and email or post a message here with it. If you need to do anything special to get Pinnacle to export this kind of file, please let me know.
