In conclusion, if you are going to spend more than 200 dollars on a GPS device, go for the 800, it has the express backend, the lifetime map update feature, the features are more than enough for me, it is not as expensive as the 700i and it won't die on me, I have had it for over a year now and it is still working fine. The 700i is only good for travelers who are going to Thailand, and Vietnam, if you have a bigger country to cover, you are wasting money with the 700i, It is great for kids or tourists, not for the military or any other field, if you are going to use it for regular running, bike riding, or any other recreational activities, you should probably go for the 800.
I think Garmin is having problems with their software, not sure if this is an on going problem or if it was only me. I think it is more of a problem when you compare this device to any other GPS device, at least the ones provided by apple and samsung.
The biggest problem I had with this device was the data provided by Garmin, the way they calculate routes and the way they show you the distances and the average speeds, all the distances and the speeds seem a bit off (5% less than what I used to see on my handheld GPS)
