Minutes later, Goku began to train intensely, with Super Saiyan Broly's power on the rise. Vegeta headed to where he and Goku had fought Broly's father in the past, where he witnessed his power firsthand by watching him fight. He shouted to his grandson that Goku is going to be stronger. Vegeta's plan failed, however, as Broly destroyed the surrounding rocks in his path. He then asked his Grand Son if Goku was going to be able to stop him. Once Goku returned, he threatened to fight Broly in a single-on-single battle. Vegeta immediately countered this, saying that it was a stupid idea, but Goku was eager to take on Broly on his own. Vegeta's refusal to allow Goku to fight alone angered him, but Goku explained that he was sure to lose to Broly, if he fought him in a solo battle. Trunks agreed with his brother, while Gohan and Piccolo advised Goku to not fight alone, as his future self had warned him that he would lose to Broly. Vegeta then told Goku to stay where he was, as he would deal with Broly once and for all. Trunks then became filled with determination and decided to help his father, but Vegeta yelled at him and told him to sit down and wait for Goku's return. When Goku arrived, Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo pleaded for Vegeta to let Goku fight Broly on his own. Vegeta agreed to this, but told Goku to be careful. He then began to train again, as he wanted Broly to win by himself, but his energy was soon absorbed by his anger at Goku's stupidity.
